Artifact 7: A Qualitative Content Analysis
For this activity, we had to select an online textbook or course and select 20 images from it. The images could be selected randomly or by chapter. Then we had to sort the images into different categories of the type of images they are. I selected the textbook World Religions: The Spirit Searching by Jody Ondich. It is a textbook describing different religions around the world and seems to be for students in higher education. Below are the results in each category.
This table differs significantly from the one in Table 5 of the reading in this week's module. On my table, there are a lot more Decorative images than Educational and Affordance ones. This might be the case because of the kind of textbook I selected. It's a textbook about the religious text so it would make sense that most of the images are under the category of Theming and Personalization.
